Rooney out for three weeks with hamstring injury

Rooney out for three weeks with hamstring injuryLondon, Jan. 15: Manchester United will be without the services of striker Wayne Rooney for the next three weeks after the player limped off the field with a hamstring injury.

Rooney, however, ensured that his club secured a 1-0 victory over Wigan, and move to within two points of title aspirant Liverpool.

"Being at the top is the place to be and now we can do that by Saturday night," said coach Alex Ferguson, adding that he wasn't too worried about the absence of Rooney from the line up.

"You don't mind when you're top in my experience. But Wayne has a hamstring, it's one of those things - but it's a three-week job I'm afraid," The Sun quoted him, as saying. (ANI)
