Schalke's Rafinha agrees to terms with Bayern Munich

Schalke's Rafinha agrees to terms with Bayern Munich München  - Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are set to hire Brazilian right back Rafinha from Schalke 04, the Sport Bild weekly said in the run-up to the teams' league match.

Citing Schalke management sources, Sport Bild reported in its latest issue published on Wednesday that Rafinha has agreed terms to terms with Munich.

However, a transfer fee is yet to be determined as Rafinha has a contract at Schalke until 2011. It is also unclear whether Schalke will let him go.

Munich, who host Schalke in the Bundesliga on Saturday, are in need of a classy right back to strengthen their team as neither Massimo Oddo nor Christian Lell have impressed on that position.

Rafinha, 23, told Sport Bild that frequent showings in the Champions League, which he could have with Munich, will raise his chances of becoming a regular player in Brazil's national team.

"I was invited to the Selecao five times after the (Beijing 2008) Olympics. We were then eliminated from Europe with Schalke and I was then out of the national team.

I am sixth in the league and not playing on an international level. That must change. I want to play Champions League. I want to do more in my career," Rafinha told Sport Bild. (dpa)
