Washington, Apr 24 : `The Kills' star Alison Mosshart has had to cut short a gig in Colorado after she was taken ill with altitude sickness.

Mosshart, 30, who was working on her side project `The Dead Weather' with rocker Jack White, had to scrap a gig at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado on April 22 halfway through after she was left short of breath, reports Contactmusic.

Washington, Apr 24 : Actor Liev Schreiber has revealed that he almost dodged death when he got caught in a riptide while learning to surf off the coast of Australia.

Liev, who was holidaying in Australia with lover Naomi Watts, decided to give surfing a try off the coast of Sydney suburb Tamarama.

Though, Liev thought that he could swim out of the riptide, the intensity of the tide proved him wrong, as it almost killed him.

Washington, Apr 24 : Researchers from A. O. U. in Cagliari Sardegna, Italy have found a link between increased carotid artery wall thickness (CAWT) - which can cause heart attack and stroke- and diabetes and hypertension.

During the study, the researchers looked at 186 patients with the help of multidetector row CT and sought to determine association between CAWT is associated with cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and a history of smoking.
