Miami  - Serena Williams played her first match in nearly a month to reach the third round of the Miami Masters 6-2, 6-3 over fellow-American Alexa Glatch on Saturday.

The world number one was back on court after completing her annual pout by skipping this month's other big event in Indian Wells, where she and her sister Venus claim racial discrimination due to crowd jeers nearly a decade ago.

The 2001 incident still burns brightly for the Williams pair, who have vowed never to return to the California desert despite losing hundreds thousands of dollars in various sanctions from the WTA.

Washington - A Soyuz capsule with a joint US-Russian crew and a millionaire space tourist successfully docked Saturday with the International Space Station (ISS), US officials reported.

The US space agency NASA said the docking, coming two days after the Soyuz was launched from the Baikonur centre, went without a hitch and was completed at 1305 GMT, nine minutes earlier than scheduled.

The Soyuz brought Russian cosmonaut Gennadi Padalka and his US colleague Michael Barratt - who will stay on the ISS until next October - as well as US millionaire space tourist Charles Simonyi.

Washington, Mar 28 : Welsh singer-songwriter Duffy has vowed that she will never endorse another product again, after her TV commercial for Diet Coke was criticised by U. K. campaigners over road safety fears.

Duffy, 24, who is currently promoting the low-calorie beverage in a European advertising campaign, is seen riding a bicycle through dark streets without a helmet or reflective gear.

The singer was criticised for the promo by officials at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, after it debuted last month.

Washington, Mar 28 : New Zealand actor Russell Crowe has revealed that he has cut off his hair, which he had grown for his part as Robin Hood, as he wanted the medieval hero to look different.

Crowe, 44, admits that he has been working around his new look for his past two films, and that he finally decided on playing the part with his hair cropped.

Washington, Mar 28 : Hollywood actor Brandon Routh's whole plotline has been removed from the film `The Informers' amid budget concerns.

The new film has been made from a book by Brett Easton Ellis, however trouble emerged after director Nick Jarecki was replaced by Gregor Jordan.

According to the sources, Ellis and Jarecki, who wrote the screenplay, are not quite happy with the finished product. They told pals that the film they had started to make is quite different from the finished product.
