Former Australian cricket captain Allan Border along with ex-Test players Vinod Kambli, Damien Fleming, former Australian woman cricketer Melanie Jones, Olympian Basketball player Brett Wheeler, professional NBL player Darren Smith and renowned soccer coach Tim Wastil visited DY Patil Sports Academy's stadium, Nerul on Thursday. The occasion was a charity event by Australian-based NGO Red Dust Role Models and Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children that looks after underprivileged children and tries to make their future bright.

Nitin, who will turn 35, on March 4 this year, has validated the point that he has lot more tennis left in him as he entered the single’s final followed by title in the doubles along with his cousin Sandeep in the DES Trophy All India Ranking Men’s Tennis Tournament at Fergusson College here on Thursday.

In the singles semi-final, top seed Rohan Gide from Pune struggled against Nitin’s aggression with a combination of backhand slices and forehand strokes and he went down tamely 4-6 3-6 in straight sets.

Holders, Maharashtra Cricket Association’s under-13 outfit thumped Cadence Cricket Academy by nine wickets in the first semi-final of the Cadence under-13 Cricket championship, at the latter’s ground in Mundhwa, here on Thursday.

In what could be termed as a repeat of last year’s semi-finals, wherein Cadence Cricket Academy did give some fight to the same opponents. This year the Cadence turned out to be a mere pedestrians as their innings was folded for a mere 90 runs and the state under-13 outfits cantered past the target in 16.2 overs to make it to the final of this 7th edition of the championship for the second year in succession.

Officers stopped the Argentinian near the club's training ground because his windows were too dark - then discovered he might not be allowed to drive in the UK.

The Bentley is now stuck on the drive of the star's 1.8 million pound home at Alderley Edge, Cheshire, while the matter is sorted out.
