Vlade DivacBelgrade - Serbian basketball star Vlade Divac was Tuesday named as the president of Serbia's Olympic committee, local media reported.

Divac was named president after his opponent, incumbent OC president Ivan Curkovic withdraw his candidacy.

Divac won several World and European titles with Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro. He also won the European club championship with Partizan Belgrade and had an prominent career spanning longer than 15 years in the US national basketball association (NBA).

Barkley, the Hall of Fame Basketball star turned TV analyst, was sentenced on Monday to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of driving under the influence
(DUI), according to Phoenix, Arizona radio station KTAR.

Arrested on New Year's Eve, Barkley also pleaded "responsible" to a third charge of running a red light, near his Scottsdale, Arizona home.

Though the 45-year old Barkley was sentenced to 10 days in jail, beginning March 21, and fined 2,000 dollars, he could have that time cut in half, if he completes an alcohol awareness program.

The Scotland midfielder lives at the house with his girlfriend and two sons, although it is not known if they were home at the time of the raid.

The gang broke into Fletcher's family home in up-market Bowdon, Greater Manchester, on Monday night.
