London - Andrei Arshavin's proposed transfer from Zenit St Petersburg to Arsenal fell through on Monday morning, according to Sky Sports News.
The Russian playmaker was in London to complete his move before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.
But sources suggest he left his Hertfordshire hotel a little after 9 a. m. (0900 GMT) to return to Russia after it became clear that Arsenal could not meet his salary demands.
It is understood, though, that the airport he was making for is closed because of snow.
