Madrid  - Brazilian giants Palmeiras announced on Wednesday that they have signed veteran Edmilson from Spanish club Villarreal, for an undisclosed fee.

According to Brazilian website Globoesporte, Edmilson, 32, has agreed to a two-year contract with Palmeiras, who are coached by Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

Villarreal have still not confirmed the departure of the Brazilian defender-cum-midfielder.

Edmilson joined Villarreal from Barcelona in July 2008, but has hardly played for the club.

London, Jan. 21 : Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that his future is at Manchester United.

Ronaldo, 23, said: "I'm very happy at Manchester United. I am at home here.

"For all I have achieved and won, for the friendships I have made with supporters and the United family - I've been very well treated by everyone. I feel this is a very beautiful cycle in my career that I will always remember," he added.

London, Jan. 21 : Brazilian striker Robinho has been fined 320,000 pounds by Manchester City for storming out of their Tenerife training camp without permission.

According to The Mirror, Robinho did not have permission to leave the training camp - despite the player's claims to the contrary - and he will be fined two weeks' wages for breaching club discipline.

City, still reeling from their embarrassing failure to land Kaka, are furious with Robinho for his disappearing act and have ordered the 24-year-old to return to Manchester ahead of next week's Premier League game with Newcastle.

Robinho said he returned to Brazil for family reasons and did so with the full backing of the club.

London, Jan. 21: Gutted by Kaka's decision not to join him at Manchester City from A C Milan, Brazilian football player Robinho has lost faith in the club's ability to deliver on promises made to him by the club.

Agents are also understood to be working on behalf of Robinho to pursue ways of getting him a move before the transfer window closes.
