New Delhi, Sept 22: Vice-President Hamid Ansari today said that Museums, libraries, national galleries and archives which are a major contributor to tourist economy, have become powerful places of social learning, promotion of creativity and innovation.
New Delhi, Sept 22: A joint team comprising of Delhi Police and Intelligence Bureau (IB) today arrived in Udupi in Karnataka, where it is believed the terrorists purchased ball bearing and other equipment to make bombs used in serial blasts.
The team will also visit Dharwad, where militant training camps have been allegedly held.
Saif and Zeeshan, terror suspects arrested from Jamia Nagar on Friday, have also been taken to Karnataka, where police believe they could get more leads.
New Delhi, Sept 22 : The Delhi government is evacuating people living on the banks of river Yamuna following the release of a record four lakhs cusecs of water by Haryana authorities.
The Yamuna crossed the danger mark and water level touched a high of 205.25 meters this afternoon.
Chief Engineer of Flood Control M. C. T Parewa said that the level is likely to rise further this evening, following continuous release of water from Haryana.
A 24-hour control room has been activated to monitor the situation and boats have been pressed to evacuate affected people, who are sheltered in roadside temporary camps, Parewa added.

New Delhi, Sept 21 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday demanded that Delhi Police Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma who died battling terrorists during an encounter in Jamia Nagar should be bestowed with the Ashok Chakra.
BJP leader V K Malhotra said, "We demand Ashok Chakra for this brave officer who died fighting the militants."
"The Government should also immediately announce a financial package for his family," added Malhotra.
Sharma, who was 41 years old, served the Delhi Police for 19 years before falling to the bullet of heavily armed terrorists in a fierce gunfight at the Batla house in Jamia Nagar in New Delhi on September 19.
