New Delhi, Feb 12: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath will inaugurate the 14th India Carpet Expo here today.

Shankersinh Vaghela, Union Minister for Textiles; G. K. Pillai, Commerce Secretary and Rita Menon, Textiles Secretary will also attend the function.

The four-day expo is being organised by the Carpet Export Promotion Council.

The expo is world acclaimed established fair on handmade carpets and other floor coverings in South East Asia, envisaging unique business oriented platform to the importers and exporters.

New Delhi, Feb 12 : The special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court will pronounce its first judgement in the Nithari killings case here today.

The Rimpa Haldar murder case will be the first in which Special Judge Rema Jain will pronounce the verdict.

Haldar, a married woman, was called by Kohli to work as housemaid at Pandher''s Bunglow. She had gone missing before the disclosure of the Nithari killings.

New Delhi, Feb 11 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved the proposals of the Department of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways for the Development of four laning of MP/Maharashtra Border-Nagpur.

The project cost of four laning of the section is estimated as Rs. 1205.52 crore including Rs. 35.00 crore towards Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement and pre-construction.

The Government would provide the viability gap funding, which would not exceed 40 per cent of the total project cost excluding the cost of LA, R&R and pre-construction.

"The Ministry is against any cartelization amongst airlines. We will keep watch and take strict action in any such case. The national carrier Air India will never be a part of it and will ensure that competitive pricing ensures better prices to the passengers. Air India shall act as a counter with better pricing and competitive fares," Patel said.
