New Delhi, Feb 9 : The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India has signed a Grant of Permission Agreement for establishing, maintaining and operating a community radio station at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.

The community radio station is expected to be operational within three months as per the agreement.

St. Aloysius College''s community radio station will be the 42nd station in the country.

St. Aloysius College, Mangalore is a 129-year old educational institution.

New Delhi (dpa) - A major accident was averted at the Mumbai airport Monday when a helicopter of Indian President Pratibha Patil landed on the runway just as a passenger jet was about to take off, media reports said.

An Indian Airlines aircraft bound for New Delhi with 148 passengers aboard aborted the take-off after the pilot spotted the chopper on the runway, the NDTV network reported.

New Delhi  - India's economy is expected to post its lowest growth in six years and fall to 7.1 per cent for the current fiscal year against 9 per cent the previous year, according to government data released Monday.

The estimate - the first official projection for the financial year ending on March 31 - was on expected lines and similar to the rate forecast by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Economic Advisory Panel.

New Delhi, Feb 9 : The condition of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who was admitted to AIIMS after complaining of severe chest pain last Tuesday, is stable today, doctors said.

According to doctors, his chest infection was under control and he is responding to treatment.

Head of Cardiac Thoracic Vascular Sciences Department of AIIMS Sampath Kumar said: "The pneumonia is under control with the prognosis being good. Gradually his oxygenation level has shown improvement and there is no spread of pneumonia."
