Mukherjee to seek Bangladesh''s cooperation on terrorism during Dhaka visitNew Delhi, Feb 8 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will be visiting Bangladesh capital Dhaka on February 9.

During his visit, Mukherjee is expected to seek Bangladesh''s cooperation in fighting against terrorism.

Mukherjee is likely to call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and discuss Dhaka''s proposal for the setting up of a joint anti-terror mechanism.

Vajpayee is stable and recovering: AIIMSNew Delhi, Feb 8 : Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is undergoing treatment for a chest infection at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), is reported to be stable and making progress.

Dr. Sampath Kumar, the head of the Cardiac-Thoracic Vascular Sciences brushed off rumours regarding Vajpayee''s ill health. Kumar confirmed that his condition has not deteriorated and also said that he has no fever.

Doctors to remove Prime Minister''s stitches todayNew Delhi, Feb 8 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh''s stitches will be removed on Sunday. He will also undergo a complete health check-up today.

Dr Ramakant Panda from the Asian Heart Institute will remove Dr. Singh''s incisions at his official 7, Race Course Road residence.

The doctors have only allowed Singh''s family members and some key officials to meet him until his surgical incisions are completely healed.

Hospital: Former Indian premier Vajpayee's condition "serious"

Atal Bihari VajpayeeNew Delhi - Former Indian prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was in a serious condition Saturday as he fought a respiratory infection, officials at the Delhi hospital treating him said.

"He is in a serious but stable condition and continues to be on mechanical ventilation following lower respiratory tract infection," the All India Institute of Medical Sciences
(AIIMS) medical superintendent DK Sharma said.

Vajpayee, 85, was admitted to the intensive care unit of hospital on Tuesday night, after he complained of difficulty in breathing Tuesday night.

Cabinet Secretary reviews emergency response systems at airports

The meeting was held against the backdrop of the incident that had taken place at the IGI Airport, Delhi on February 1, 2009, which had resulted in an emergency landing of the Indigo Flight 6E-334, due to the disruptive behaviour of a passenger.

India asks Pakistan to keep word on Mumbai probe

Sharma told reporters here that Pakistan should adhere to the international law, and reiterated that Pakistan owed an explanation to the international community for allowing banned organisations to function under a changed name.
