New Delhi, Feb 26 : The Keel laying of Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC), one of the major milestones IN Indian shipbuilding, is scheduled for February 28 by Defence Minister A K Anthony.

The design and construction of IAC was sanctioned by the Government of India in January 2003. This is the most prestigious project, which the Indian Navy has taken up in-house so far. T

he design and construction of this ship is a technical complexity whose dimensions far outstrip any such challenge faced hitherto by the Indian naval designers.

With this project, India has become the fourth nation to join the select club of 40,000 T plus aircraft carrier designers and builders.

New Delhi, Feb 26 : Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary Amar Singh appeared before a Delhi court on Thursday, minutes after a bailable warrant was issued against him for not presenting himself in connection with a criminal complaint filed by him in a two-year-old cheating case.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaweri Baweja issued a bailable warrant for Rs. 10,000 against Singh but the order was recalled when the SP leader personally appeared before the court after ten minutes.

New Delhi, Feb 26 : Tata Motors on Thursday said that its much awaited Rs. one lakh family car, Nano, would be launched on March 23 in Mumbai, and booking will start from April this year.

"A function on March 23 would mark the car's commercial launch in Mumbai. The cars will be on display at Tata Motors dealerships from the first week of April 2009. Bookings will commence from the second week of April 2009," a company statement said.

The statement quoted that the booking process and other details of the car would also be announced at the launch ceremony.

(MoC) to work jointly towards the Rural Business Hubs (RBH) in rural areas by converging Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) and other schemes of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

New Delhi, February 26 : Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Thursday described his five-year tenure in office as a "great opportunity" and revealed that he had never expected to receive the authority as a speaker, but got it.

Speaking about his bad experiences in Parliament, Chatterjee termed July 22, 2008 as the worst day of his term.

He was referring to the cash-for-vote case, when three BJP MPs displayed wads of cash in the Lower House and accused the UPA Government of offering bribes to MPs to win the trust vote.
