New Delhi, July 22 : UPA Govt. to seek trust vote todayThe United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government will face the trust vote in the Lok Sabha today.

Ahead of trust vote, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh reiterated that his UPA Government would win the trust vote.

“I am confident that the government will win the trust vote,” he told media persons late last evening after attending the first day of the two-day trust motion.

Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the Congress-led alliance had the support of 276 MPs, clearly crossing the majority mark.

DUSU is organising the programme in the light of new academic session as the campaign aims to bring the movement of smoke free campus to the freshers.

The Delhi University was declared ‘No Smoking Zone’ on February 14 in a function inaugurated by Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar.

Mayawati says UPA should end negotiations on US-India nuke deal

MayawatiNewNew Delhi, July 22 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati said on Monday that the UPA should suspend further action on the US-India civilian nuclear cooperation agreement and leave it for the next government to finalise it.

Claiming that the deal was a step to make India a "slave" of the United States, she said the country should hold its head high to safeguard its interests.

Manmohan Singh telling ''blatant lies'' in Parliament, says Left

Manmohan SinghNew Delhi, July 21 : Senior Left party leaders today charged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of telling "blatant lies" during the trust vote debate in Parliament, and described his opening statement as "short and dull".

They also said that his address was a reflection of his "low confidence level".

"Singh''s statement is a reiteration of his belief in unilateralism. He violated the understanding by going ahead with nuclear deal when there was no agreement between parties on the issue," senior CPI (M) leader Nilotpal Basu.

UPA has 276 MPs, will prove majority, says Pranab Mukherjee

New Delhi, July 21: Foreign Minister and Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee stated here today that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government had the support of 276 MPs.

Mukherjee asserted that it would prove its majority in the confidence vote being held on July 22 over the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.

He urged the Opposition and the Left to base their case on facts and not to distort facts on the nuclear deal.

"Advani is twisting the facts," he said.

Mukherjee accused the Left of destabilizing the Government and said, “Left withdrew and the Samajwadi Party stepped in. With the support of the SP''s 39 MPs, we are now
