New Delhi, July 20 : Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Shahid Siddiqui''s defection to the Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) just three days before the crucial trust vote in the Lok Sabha, has left Muslim community leaders dismayed.

Criticizing Siddique for his political about turn and his use of his opposition to the India-US civilian nuclear cooperation deal as a tool, the Muslim leaders are of the unanimous view that he has communalized the deal issue.

New Delhi, July 20 : Janata Dal (Secular) with crucial votes of three MPs will hold its political affairs committee meeting today to decide its stand with regard to the confidence motion.

JD (S) chief H D Deve Gowda, who arrived here on Saturday to meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, refused to divulge his party''s strategy.

Earlier, Gowda said that he would consult his party leaders before deciding on whether they should support the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government during the trust vote.
