Journalist Sabina Sehgal deadSenior journalist of The Times of India Sabina Sehgal Saikia was found dead on Saturday in the Taj Hotel.

Her body was found after the NSG cleared the building of terrorists.

"Unfortunately she is dead. Her body was recovered this morning from the hotel," Resident Editor (Delhi) of the paper Vikas Singh said.

Saikia was trapped inside the Taj hotel when terrorists struck the luxurious commercial establishment on Wednesday.

EC notice to Delhi Minister

Delhi Education and Tourism Minister Arvinder Singh LovelyThe Election Commission of India has issued notice to Delhi Education and Tourism Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely for alleged violation of the model electoral code of conduct.

The notice was served on Saturday and The EC sought his reply by Sunday evening.

The allegation was- Lovely, who is contesting the assembly election from Gandhi Nagar constituency, used his official writing pad with the national emblem embossed on it to appeal to the electors to vote for him, said an official of EC.

Cong. wins Goa by-pollCongress retained its Pale constituency seat by defeating BJP rivals in the by-polls. Polling for the seat was held on November 26.

Congress candidate Pratap Gawas defeated his nearest BJP candidate Pradip Sawant, by 1,534-votes. The results were declared on Saturday.

Gawas got 7,867 votes, while the BJP candidate was voted for by 6,333 persons. Rebel BJP candidate Suresh Amonkar, who contested independently, polled 3,682 votes.
