Trivitron ties knot with BioSystems

Trivitron ties knot with BioSystemsMedical technology products manufacturer Trivitron Group of Companies, has formed an alliance with BioSystems, Spain, to manufacture in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) reagents.

It should be noted that this is the third manufacturing joint venture for Trivitron in recent times. Earlier, the firm has signed joint ventures with Brandon Medical for making operation theatre bulbs and Aloka of Japan for portable ultrasound scanners.

Under the agreement, BioSystems will manufacture IVD reagents for diagnostic lab use by setting up its manufacturing facility at Trivitron's Medical Technology Park at SIPCOT Industrial Park at Sriperumbudur, Chennai.

BioSystems is among the largest manufacturers of clinical chemistry reagents as well as instruments in Europe.

The park, which is presently under-construction on 23 acres of land, will cater to both domestic as well as foreign markets. The products from the facility are expected to roll out by the middle of 2010.

Apart from latest development, the company is also planning to set up a medical equipment park in Pune, near X-ray machine manufacturing company Vision Engineering, which the Trivitron acquired in January 2009.

A company official, who did not wish to be named, informed that the outlay for both parks is around Rs 250 crore, out of which Rs 150 crore will be from Trivitron while, the rest are from the companies that set up units in the parks.
