New York, 11th Nov. 2008 -- H. H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Fujairah, arrived here last night to represent UAE President H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in religion summit on interfaith dialogue which starts today.

Sheikh Hamad is scheduled to deliver on Wednesday the UAE address before the three-day conference being held under the theme ''Culture of Peace and Dialogue among Religions and Cultures''. It is being convened in response to a call by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia under the auspices of the UN.

Sheikh Hamad will also hold rounds of talks with a number of leaders of sisterly and friendly countries taking part in the meeting.

Sheikh Hamad is leading a high-ranking delegation comprising Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and a number of senior officials. (WAM/TF)
