Uber now offers fare splittingUber, a popular App-based car service, has said that it is adding fare splitting service to its apps for iOS and Android apps.

The new option will added to the apps through a new update for the Uber iOS and Android apps. The new service will allow people to share the cost of ride through the app. The users will be able to access Fare Split option after requesting a ride. The users will be able to share the cost of a ride via a user's contacts list or by manually entering a phone number. The details will then be confirmed through an text within the app or download it to provide payment info

"The app's newest feature lets you share the cost of your trip with other passengers. Once they confirm, we'll take care of the math and split the fare evenly among everyone in your car," Uber said.

The company said that the new feature will allow the users to conveniently share the cost of ride so that one person does not have to pay the entire cost of the ride. It also said that sometimes it is difficult for 3 or 4 people to equally spilt the cost but the users will be able to easily spilt costs using Uber. The company also added support for Google Wallet within the Android app.
