Washington  - The United States' economic recovery package cleared the Senate on Tuesday, which voted to pass the
838-billion- dollar bill that would be the largest in US history.

The Senate voted 61-37 on the stimulus legislation, along largely partisan lines with only a few Republicans backing the bill. Congress must now hammer out differences between separate versions of the bill passed in the Senate and the lower House of Representatives. (dpa)
