Vodafone to sell iPhones in 10 new countries including India and AustraliaIndian consumers will have the option to buy iPhone legally as Vodafone has signed an agreement with US Technology major Apple Inc. Vodafone will sell Apple’s popular gadget iPhone in 10 countries including India, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy and Greece.

iPhone offers many unique features and has been very popular in United States. Strong iPhone sales helped Apple to post robust results. iPhone was recently launched in select countries in Europe. In other parts of the world, iPhone was imported through grey markets and later consumers had to get them unlocked.

Apple stock was up by 2% at $184.97 in US market. Apple may launch a new version of iPhone later this year with faster downloading capacity and better services using wireless, 3G networks. Vodafone shares were marginally down by 0.7 percent in London Stock Exchange. Vodafone will offer iPhone with their plans and as per the sources, the phones will work only on Vodafone network.

iPhone was available in United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany and Austria only. Apple is also in talks with Chinese mobile phone giant to market the phone in fast growing Chinese market. Chinese mobile companies wanted Apple to offer features in iPhone in local languages.
