Washington, Dec 10 : 'Vampire Academy' star Zoey Deutch has been cast alongside Zac Efron and Robert De Niro in upcoming comedy ' Dirty Grandpa .'

The Lionsgate project, which would be helmed by Dan Mazer from a screenplay by John Phillips, is being produced by Bill Block, Jason Barrett, Barry Josephson and Michael Simkin, Deadline. com reported.

The QED and Ninjas Running Wild comedy will centre on a road trip, and follow uptight Jason, played by Efron, as he drives to Florida for spring break before his wedding, with his grandfather (De Niro), a foul-mouthed former Army general.

The 20-year-old actress will play Shadia, Efron's love interest and an earthy environmental advocate.

The film is slated to release in August 2016. (ANI)
