1.2 billion people use mobile-web in India
India has become the second largest market of mobile-web users. According to the mobile advertising network, AdMob, the mobile-web traffic of the country has touched 1.2-billion.
Huge numbers of mobile users in the country are now looking for Internet access through their mobile phones.
At the same time, the service providers are providing affordable data plans to their customers. As a result, in less than a year, the mobile-web traffic has increased by almost 100 per cent.
Talking about this, AdMob's Country Manager for India, Mahesh Narayanan said that the soon the mobile-Internet usage is going to overtake the fixed-line-Internet usage in India.
Mobile Internet is easy to access and is very portable. These are two main reasons why it has become such a hit. Besides, a user can surf from anywhere and at anytime.
Mobile ownership and usage is growing at an enormous speed over the ownership of PCs with Internet access in India.
At the same time, this fast growing sector has attracted the advertisers as well. Experts believe that advertisers are now looking forward to grab the opportunity as the number of customers is growing day by day.
