17 million mobile users added in July- Says TRAI The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has informed that the telecom operators of India have managed to add 17 million new subscribers in the month of July this year.

The regulator has also said that the total number of mobile users has touched 652.42 million after the reviewed month. This has been stated by TRAI in the recent data released by it.

It has also informed that there has been a remarkable growth in the wireless subscriber base as well. The wireless subscriber base has gone up in the month of July. It was recorded 635.51 million in the month of June and has hiked up to 652.42 million at the end of the month of July this year.

Hence there has been a growth of 2.66% in the number of the wireless subscribers in the month of July against its preceding month. TRAI has said that the total number of telephone subscribers has also grown up from its June's figure of 671.69 million to 688.38 million in July.

The total subscribers include mobile and landline customers in India. The teledensity had been recorded at 58.17 per cent for June.
