Swine turned more deadly on Friday as two more people died of deadly virus in Karnataka, taking the death toll in the state to 108.

It is learnt that a 40-year-old man admitted to a government hospital died of the deadly virus in Bangalore on Friday.

He was admitted in the hospital on October 1.

The second victim, a 25-year-old woman succumbed to the virus in Gadag on October 6.

Both the victims had tested positive for swine flu.

Apart from this, 13 new cases of swine flu- 12 from Bangalore and one from Belgaum were reported on Thursday.

With this, the total number of positive cases in the state has reached 1,137.

Meanwhile, speaking with the media persons, I. R. Perumal, Principal Secretary for Health, said: “According to our clinical audit, the delay in treatment is one of the main causes of the large number of swine flu deaths in the state. People should immediately check with doctors if any swine flu like symptoms are noticed in a person.”

Notably, Karnataka is the second worst swine flu-hit state after Maharashtra in the country.
