3i Infotech acquires 100% share of Regulus; Stock surges 11%

3i Infotech, an IT solutions provider and software product company has informed that the Company has signed an agreement to acquire 100% shares of Regulus Group LLC (Regulus), an independent remittance and document processing services provider, for a total consideration of $100 million.

Under the terms of agreement, the company has proposed to acquire 100 per cent equity stake of Regulus, including the company's products, trademarks and product brands.

California-based, Regulus handles over 2.1 billion paper and electronic transactions annually. It has around 1,300 employees and serves around 150 clients through its direct sales force and about 85 additional clients generated through reseller partnerships.

Regulus had reported revenue of approximately $148 million for the 12 months ended December 2007.

The shares of the 3i infotech were last trading up Rs 14, or 11%, at Rs 133. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 3,072,170. (2.30 p.m., Tuesday)
