5 New Deaths Take Country's Swine Flu Toll To 413The swine flu death toll in India has climbed up to 413, with the demise of 5 more persons reported from different parts of the country on Sunday.

Out of the 5, Maharashtra, the state worst hit by H1N1 flu pandemic, reported 4 deaths (3 in Pune and 1 in Aurangabad) whereas one casualty was reported from Allapuzha in Kerala.

Of the total deaths in the country thus far, Maharashtra reported 177, followed by Karnataka (112), Andhra Pradesh (42), Gujarat (38), Delhi (15), Kerala (11), Tamil Nadu (4), Haryana (4), Goa (3), Uttarakhand (3), Uttar Pradesh (2), Chhattisgarh (1) and Rajasthan (1).

According to the health officials, 43 new H1N1 cases were reported from the National Capital, Karnataka, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

The officials said that they have not received the reports for the day from the other states.

With these, the number of infected people so far in India came to 12,787.

Till date, samples from 67,612 people have been examined for influenza A H1N1 in government as well as private labs across India.
