90 new swine flu cases
Despite efforts of government, the number of swine flu cases is rising. According to the recent data released by the ministry, with the ninety new swine flu cases, the number has reached 1,283.
Out of the 90 new cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus, 43 cases reported in Pune were all indigenous. 18 swine flu cases were reported in Mumbai, 17 out of which were indigenous while one case was of a three-year old girl who arrived from the UK.
16 cases were reported from Delhi, out of which 13 are indigenous cases while the three others have foreign travel history. While Kolhapur reported two new cases, Bangalore (9), Mangalore (1) and Gurgaon (1).
According to a health ministry press statement, so far, 6,249 people have been tested and 1,283 of them are positive for Influenza A (H1N1). A total 680 out of the 6,249 tested have been identified through entry screening, 1,107 people through contact tracing and the rest were self reported.
