There have been cases in the past where a mother delivered baby on way to hospital, but this new case is bit different as a delivery room was inside the family truck. The couple here was guided via telephone by a 911 dispatcher how to make their newborn baby breathe.

Kristen said it was 2 a.m. on December 18 and she realized on the way that they will not be able to make it to reach in time.

The couple called 911 when a new 911 dispatcher in Utah William Kalaher took the call and had a surprise test when he had to help birth a baby via the telephone.

Kalaher had started as a 911 dispatcher only two weeks before taking a call from Kristin Allred and her husband, Shay, who called as Allred was starting to deliver her infant daughter in the car last Friday.

“We were really close [to the hospital]; I just felt like I needed to start pushing. From when we started talking to 911, within a minute I had given birth”, Kristin Allred told ABC News.

Allred said her husband kept on driving towards the Salt Lake City hospital. But she suddenly realized that there was something wrong with the baby.

She found that the baby was not breathing. This was the time when Kalaher's training helped. Allred said the 911 dispatcher asked them to cool down and follow the instructions.

The baby wasn’t breathing because the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. Kalaher told the couple how to position the baby to encourage her to breathe.

Allred said Kalaher even told her husband to tie off the umbilical cord. The police and an ambulance arrived soon after the delivery.
