Etching a name for himself with super-hit flick Manjil Virinja Pookkal, yesteryear chocolate hero Shankar Panickar is all set to turn director with Keralotsavam 2009, which stars Vinu Mohan and Vishnupriya in the lead.

The other cast includes Salim Kumar, Kishore Sathya, Sivaji Guruvayur, Prakash and Abhirami Suresh. Keralotsavam 2009 is produced under the banner of Grace International.

Shyam Dharman is the music director. Lyrics are jotted down by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma. Screenplay and dialogues has been penned by Vinu Narayanan. The shooting is progressing at various locations, including an old bungalow at Althara junction near Guruvayur.
