Bharti Airtel, India's telecom major, has launched its mobile-based payment application, mChek on the voice.
Commenting on the launch of the new service, Atul Bindal (President, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel) said: “There is tremendous potential for voice enabled m-Commerce services in India and we are giving a huge thrust in this area.”
The new service will help Airtel subscribers to pay mobile and fixed-line bills, recharge pre-paid and digitalTV accounts, recharge Delhi-Gurgaon expressway toll tags, pay insurance premiums, buy gifts and tickets using their mobile phones.
Any Airtel mobile user can access the service by dialling 543219.
At present, the company is offering this service through various mediums like SMS, USSD, J2ME and SIM application and WAP.
