Alonso not going to Ferrari, says Renault boss
Paris - Renault chief executive officer Carlos Ghosn has dismissed media reports linking two-time world champion Fernando Alonso with a move to Formula One rivals Ferrari.
"He will continue to drive for Renault next year, if I have anything to do with it," Ghosn told French radio station Europe 1 Friday.
Italian and Spanish media claimed in recent days that Alonso would replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari for the 2010 season, with the Italian marque supposedly expected to make an announcement at the Italian GP in Monza in September.
However, speaking at the Nuerburgring ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix, Alonso said he was "very happy" at Renault despite the fact that he has only amassed 11 points in the opening eight races of the season, leaving him 53 points behind championship leader Jenson Button of Brawn GP.
"I think we are going to improve significantly," said the 27-year- old Spaniard. "We will then see how the car develops and what we can achieve over the next year."(dpa)
