Andhra Bank Q4 net profit soars 62%; recommends dividend of 45%Public sector lender Andhra Bank has registered growth of 61.93% in its net profit to Rs 201.21 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, against Rs 124.25 crore reported during the same quarter ended March 31, 2008.

In addition, lender’s total income for the quarter has also increased to Rs 1827.10 crore from Rs 1342.95 crore during the same quarter in 2007-08.

For the financial year ended March 2009, the bank has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 653.05 crore, up 13.46% against Rs 575.57 crore in FY’08.

While, the company registered 26.96% growth in its total income to Rs 6139.99 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009 as against Rs 4836.02 crore, same period last fiscal.

Apart from announcement of results, the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting held on May 08, 2009, inter alia, has recommended a dividend of 45% for the year 2008-09.
