The recent claim by the CEO Apple Steve Jobs, at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), about the iPhone 4's retina Display which presents more pixels than the human eye can decipher has been refuted by DisplayMate Technologies.
DisplayMate Technologies president, Raymond Soneira stated that the act of claiming of having more resolution than a human eye is nothing more than a marketing gimmick.
As per the statement of Jobs who said that the phone's Retina display offers 326 pixels per inch, a resolution so dense that the human eye is not able to distinguish between two individual pixels was rebuffed and the CEO of DisplayMate Technologies stated that to attain the above said configuration, the screen should have 477 pixels per inch, viewed at a distance of 12 inches as the Wired magazine reports.
Soneria said: "The marketing puffery is now in control. Everything that's being said now is just this superamplified imaginary nonsense, and the only way to get people's attention now is making more outlandish statements."
