Washington, Apr 30: R&B star Ashanti is geared up to make her Broadway debut with the revival of ‘Wizard of Oz’.

Ashanti will portray the role of Dorothy in the version of L. Frank Baum''s Wizard of Oz in New York city.

The musical will open at the New York City Center in June (09) and will run for a month, reports Contactmusic.

Other than making music, the entertainer has also appeared in flicks like Resident Evil: Extinction and John Tucker Must Die.

The Wiz was also a cult 1978 film, starring Diana Ross, Richard Pryor and Michael Jackson. (ANI)
