Guwahati: On Wednesday, Tarun Gogoi, Assam’s Chief Minister requested to the separatist ULFA and other insurgent outfits to disown hostility and come to the compromise desk.

While speaking at the Independence Day function in the Judges Field, Mr. Gogoi alleged, “Violence does not solve any problem. Only valuable human life and property are lost pushing Assam to a dark era.”

In spite of militant actions, he stated that Assam had been successful in plowing ahead together with its economic advancement.

Gogoi annunciated an ex-gratia allowance of Rs 5,000 to the insurgents and brought up their monthly retirement fund to Rs 3,000 from Rs 2,500.
