An audio recording, which is claimed to be sounds of legendary hairy creature, Bigfoot, has surfaced in the US state of Oregon.

The recording that has been given to the Oregonian newspaper captures high-pitched shrieks and roars from an area in the Blue Mountains of Oregon state in the United Sates. The area has been known for its association to several claims of Bigfoot existence in recent times. People in the area have said that they have been hearing such sounds since November.

Sierra Sounds, an audio company, is selling a CD called "The Bigfoot Recordings: The Edge of Discovery and it is actor Jonathan Frakes, who was seen in popular fiction movie, Star Treck. The recordings are claimed to be from a Bigfoot family and include a series of guttural grunts, howls and growls.

Experts have often found such recordings to be fake with elaborate preparations to prove them right. They have found several recordings to be fake and mere manipulations by the creators to make people believe in such creatures. Leading scientific Bigfoot investigators do not see audio evidence as convincing evidence.

Some have said that the sounds around the Blue Mountain could be from foxes and coyotes, which are known to exist in the area.
