Sydney - A fall on Wall Street buffeted Australian stocks Tuesday, taking the bellwether index down 3 per cent in the first hour of trading.

The ASX 200 gave up 125 points, or 3 per cent, to 4,319.83.

The Australian dollar was buying 67 US cents. (dpa)
