Bajaj manages to sell 5 lakh units of Discover DTS-Si

Bajaj-AutoIn just a span of 255 days, India's second largest two-wheeler market has sold record 5-lakh units of the Discover DTS-Si, according to a release sent by the company.

Bajaj Auto launched its 100cc product in the month of July last year and the products have been able to get the once drying volume back into the company.

Earlier, Bajaj shied away from the 100cc segment and tried to position as a premium bike maker but the lead that Hero Honda enjoys in the Indian market, all thanks to the volumes pulled by the entry level segment made Bajaj to rethink its plans. And the result of all strategies put together was Discover DTS-Si.

The twin success of the 100cc Discover DTS-Si and also the recently-launched Pulsar 135 LS has boosted our market share to 27.3% in February," explained S. Sridhar, Chief Executive Officer (Two Wheeler), Bajaj Auto. Sridhar further added that the company hasn't been able to meet the rising demand and most of the dealerships were out of stock for February for the two products. Clearly, these two products have been keeping the Bajaj flag flying high in the Indian market.
