BCCI will choose its new team sponsorMonday is the day scheduled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to choose its team sponsor among the two firms; Bharti Airtel and Sahara Group. BCCI has published a tender notice for bids for Indian men's team, women's team, India A squad and the under-19 squad , for which only six firms have purchased the forms but only two firms have met the deadline for submitting the bids for rights along with the requisite security deposit before Saturday.

Sources revealed on Sunday, that out of six firms applied for the bids, Bharti Airtel and Sahara are the firms who succeeded in depositing the security amount of Rs 50 crore and they will submit the financial bid in the meeting which is planned for tomorrow to the BCCI marketing committee.

BCCI marketing committee meeting listed for tomorrow will be headed by the president Shashank Manohar at the Board's headquarters in Mumbai at 1100 IST. Sources also revealed further that the base price planned for each test, ODI and T20 International is Rs. 2.5 crore.

At present Sahara is the sponsor who had spent a huge amount of RS 400 crore over a period of four years of sponsorship. They have visited BCCI six months ago when there were no bids received by BCCI for the team sponsorship and they finally rescued BCCI and decided to continue the sponsorship till June 30.
