Bharti Shocked By Falling Revenue, Decides RestructuringBharti Airtel announced restructuring of its Indian and South Asian Operations on Tuesday. The restructuring decision was made considering the dropped revenues and aimed at reducing cost.

The quarter-yearly report posted a drop of 31% in Company’s total net income to Rs. 1400.7 crores from Rs. 2044.4 crores last quarter. The reason for this major fall in Company is stated to be re-branding and higher interests. The reasons for this high increase in interest are laid as Airtel’s acquisition of 3G and broadband wireless access along with Airtel’s decision to buy Zain's African operations for $10.7 billion.

Earlier, Airtel was divided into four segments mobile, enterprise, digital and tele-media but now restructuring will leave Airtel divided into two verticals B2C and B2B w. e. f. August 1.

Business to consumer stream would be headed by Srinivas. This vertical will monitor both consumer business and market operations and overall the B2C will focus on all consumer aspects, including Product, service, and innovation and consumer experience. Mobile, tele-media, digital TV, data, VAS and new products and services will remain under B2C vertical.

Drew Kelton will remain in charge of B2B segment which will continue to serve the corporate and carriers through Airtel’s portal.
