Bharuch authorities gears up after swine flu deathThe government authorities are leaving no stone upturn to prevent spread of swine flu in Bharuch. The first swine flu death in Bharuch has intensified the efforts of the local authorities. There have been three H1N1 positive cases at Bharuch till now.

Bharuch Municipality is keeping a close eye on the suspected cases. Two medical teams have been specially constituted for this task. 22 people who had come in contact with the swine flu patient in Lalbhai ni paat area of the city and 8 people who came in contact with the patient in another area of Priyadarshini society have already been treated.

To avoid any spreading of swine flu, special survey, checkup and medication at the Zadeshwar road has been conducted by the authorities. Officials are also planning to conduct special cleanliness drive in the city.

District health officer Dr BD Vegda said that the medication of the people who had come in contact with the patients had already started. In last two days, about 90 people have already been treated of including 19 people who came in contact with a 54-year-old female patient who is under treatment at the SSG hospital of Vadodara.
