Bitstream has announced that Bolt has “more active users in India than in any other country outside North America”. According to Bitstream’s statistics, curresntly 1 in every 6 active users of Bolt lives in India, and the Indian mobile web users have surfed over 5 million web pages and consumed more than 1 terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) of bandwidth using the Bolt mobile web browser, since February.

According to Bitstream, the major reasons for the surging popularity of Bolt mobile web browser are – its faster speed than its competetors and its video streaming features; it is well supportive for the video sites, such as YouTube, vids.myspace.com, video.yahoo.com, blip.tv, metacafe.com, etc. It is growing as the main competeror of Opera Mini.         

Bolt mobile web browser, which is still in Beta, is known for fast, safe, desktop-style web browsing on both high-end and low-end mobile handsets. Its video streaming capabilities are superb. It boasts of split screen and full screen modes for easy navigation. It features shortcuts for easier navigation and content selection. It offers excellent protection against spyware and malicious add-ons.
