BSNL introduces ‘Bill Payment Facility’ via Franchisee ModelThe landline, mobile and broadband customers of BSNL now don’t have to stand in queues for payment of their bills, because from now onwards, they will be able to pay their bills through franchisees located near to their houses or shops.

On Friday, the State telecom Operator has launched “BSNL Bill Payment” service (BBP) based on franchisee model which works round-the-clock. The service was first introduced in Pune, which will be later expanded to other parts of the country on successful implementation.

The unique service is based on electronic payment method, and expected to ease out the process of BBP for customers in urban, rural as well as semi-urban areas.

Under the facility, a customer on receiving monthly bill can approach the franchisee nearest to his/her home or office and demand for BBP voucher’ equal to or higher than the bill amount. After that, the customer has to send an SMS to 53330 or call toll free number for the payment of bill. The customer will get an instant receipt of the transaction on successful completion of process.

The voucher can be purchased in cash or through cheque/DD payable in favor of the franchisee.

Apart from this, the franchisee from the customer’s locality will also offer the service at their door step.

The BSNL has appointed Pune-headquartered company DigiTech Telematics Private Limited (DTPL) to collect bills in western part comprising Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
