The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Ahmedabad has made
announcement about the launching of Wi-Max service in the city by mid-August.
State-owned BSNL said that Wi-Max service will allow internet buffs to surf internet at high speed from anywhere in the city.
But, security features of this advanced technology will be examined in the coming times.
On security aspects, Principal General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Ahmedabad, PK Gupta, states, “Wi-Max facilities are username and password protected, until and unless one does not share their login details at different computers it is difficult to hack into it.”
“However, internet security is given utmost importance. There are around 4.7 lakh BSNL landline users in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and most of them have access to internet facilities,” Mr. Gupta added.
Moreover, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) also showed confidence to hold rivalry from other telecommunication operators plus foreign players in the third-generation (3G) space.
