BSNL launches new service in Jaipur

BSNLState-owned telecom service provider BSNL has released a new technology, termed as FTTH or Fibre-to-the-home services, in various districts of Rajasthan.

The FTTH network is backed by Gigabyte Passive Optical Technology concept and seeks itself in districts of Rajasthan precisely Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota and Alwar.

The opening ceremony for the same was attended by Minister of State for Communications & IT Mr. Sachin Pilot at Jaipur in the presence of BSNL's CMD Mr. Kuldeep Goyal and the CGM of BSNL's Rajasthan circle Mr. G K Agrawal,

It is a unique service offering, which provides a triple play service, relying upon a Self-Healing Network. It also aims at providing high speed access to the technology, which can reach up to 1000 Mbps speed that enables a user to dwell in services like IPTV, HDTV, 3DTV, video on demand, Bandwidth on Demand, Video conferencing, interactive gaming and other VAS services. The services will also support enterprise applications and features such as LAN, VoIP and video conferencing

Mr G K Agrawal also claimed that BSNL 3G Mobile service will soon be launched at all sub-district level and semi urban towns across the state. In a bid to provide seamless mobile network connectivity, BSNL has already installed 4000 BTS across the state and a new 1500 BTS will be commissioned soon.
