BT proclaims of 300 new exchanges in South West

BT-LogoBT, one of the major Internet service providers of UK, has pronounced that it will soon release the super fast fiber-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) broadband Internet service. This will go to 300 new exchanges mainly in the South West by the end of year.

As the official statement from the ISP comes out marking the release of FTTC, it said that it would encircle 4 million BT lines. These will become operational from autumn and will last till spring 2011.

The plan looks over areas such as London and South East. BT's Regional Director said, "BT would also like to roll-out the fiber networks to parts of UK where the economics are more challenging and where some public funding will be required. We are very open to holding discussions with public sector organizations."

This FTTC technology is based on a combination of fiber-to-the-cabinet and fiber-to-the-premises connections, and gets more credit due to easy implementations and low costs.
