Bug causes misrouting of Facebook mailsOn Wednesday, the emails sent to some Facebook users were automatically sent to wrong recipients due to some bug in the Facebook email system.

Explaining the peculiar behavior of its mailing service, Facebook said that a coding glitch was the reason behind the wrong deliveries. A spokesperson from the company further added that during a regular push on Wednesday, a bug within the social networking giant's system caused all the misrouting.

However, it claimed that the problem was caused to only a small number of users for a very short span of time.

The company was quick to react. It took it as a privacy trouble and its engineers rectified the issue immediately.

As the current scenario suggests, a lot of hue and cry has already happened over the issues relating to privacy settings in Facebook. The company didn't want any additional issues to come up.

And so, Nicky Jackson Colaco, a Facebook executive apologized and explained that the matter saying that a team of engineers is seriously looking into it.

Besides, with the current overhaul in the privacy settings, Facebook has managed to boost its image in the eyes of its users.
