An exclusive content licensing deal with Walt Disney Television International India (WDTVI- India) for three animated series – Twisted Whiskers, Ratman and Sandra has been made by DQ Entertainment (DQE), a Hyderabad-based animation, gaming and entertainment company.

All the three shows would be telecasted on Disney multiplex of channels in the coming months.

In response to the government’s move to lessen excise duty, car manufacturer Ford India has cut the prices of its models by up to Rs 54,000.

In a statement, Ford India said that the price of the company’s premium hatchback ‘Fusion’ has been slashed by Rs 18,500.

Similarly the mid-sized sedan Fiesta’s cost was cut between Rs 21,000 and Rs 25,000, whereas that of sports-utility vehicle 'Endeavour' has been reduced by Rs 47,000-Rs 54,000.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is trying hard to acquire Imperial Energy for $2.1 billion in the stipulated period. However, there are fewer chances to complete the process in time as 90 per cent of the investors are unlikely to tender their shares within the required time limit.  

A UTV official has informed that Walt Disney Company (South East Asia) has become the majority shareholder of UTV Software Communications by raising its stake to more than 50 percent.

By acquiring UTV shares from the open market, Walt Disney increased its holding in the company to more than 50 percent, where earlier its shareholding was 37 percent.

“This made Walt Disney the first Hollywood studio to have majority shares in an Indian entertainment company,” said the official.
