Government Asks Hotels to Cut Room Tariffs To Encourage Tourism

The global financial crisis has taken its toll on the Tourism Industry .At a meeting with the members of the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI), the Government suggested that hotels slash their tariffs by 10 to 15 Percent.

FHRAI Delegation comprised of 5 members namely Vivek Nair, vice-chairman, Leela Group; Rajindra Kumar, Hotel Taj Ambassador, Delhi; Salim Sherwani, Sherwani Hospitalities Ltd; Dr Sunil Gulati, Uttarakhand Hospitality and Major Harish Sud, secretary general, FHRAI.

Parsvnath Hotels gets 5-star category approval Parsvnath Developers, one of India’s leading real estate developers, has informed that the company’s subsidiary Parsvnath Hotels Ltd has received 5 star category approvals from Ministry of Tourism for hotel project at Patto Plaza, Panaji. 

The project is being developed on total land area of approx 3150.20 sq ft. and expected to be operational by end of 2010.

Phoenix chalks expansion plan worth Rs 500 croreBangalore-based Phoenix Group Global, a multinational conglomerate, is planning to spend over Rs 500 crore in various hotel, real estate and floriculture projects throughout the country. 

The company plans to fund the proposed investment through debt (70%) and equity (30%).

According to sources, the company would launch hotel projects under its new brand Zuri Hotels and Resorts in Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam. 

Parsvnath to build a 5-star hotel in Ahmedabad

Parsvnath Developers Limited (PDL), India’s leading real estate company, has informed that it would build a five-star hotel comprising
152 rooms in Ahmedabad.

Parsvnath Hotels, a subsidiary of Parsvnath Developers, has undertaken construction of hotel at Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, which has received five-star category approval from the Ministry of Tourism. The project is located just 14 kms away from the airport and mere 9 kms away from the railway station.
